I have been playing fiddle music for almost 28 years, and specialize in Irish and Scottish music. I also have a lot of experience with Eastern European and Afro-Cuban styles. I am a former fiddler and singer in Celtic Rock band Tempest, as well as Moonshine Jelly, and I'm currently a fiddler and singer in Scandinavian folk group Kaptain Bottletop. In my lessons I focus on playing by ear, and reading. For beginners I start with teaching the modes and then we learn tunes! For non-beginners, I teach you different devices and ornamentation styles, and help you find your unique style! I also put a strong emphasis on comping (chords) and improvisation.
