Brazilian percussion

I am a patient and skilled teacher of 30 years experience. I am fond of many kinds of music, but particularly that of Brazil, and I have travelled there several times to perform and record with musicians. Though I play all the percussion instruments of Brazil, I specialize in the Brazilian tambourine called the pandeiro. The pandeiro is played in many genres of music from Brazil.
I teach Brazilian Ensemble at UC Davis, and have toured with many great choro artists including Danilo Brito. I also co-direct the Berkeley Festival of Choro. To learn more about me, please visit my website www.brian-rice,com
